Words to Lead by: Kitty Chisholm
Kitty Chisholm, professional coach, facilitator and Founder Director of Boardwalk, an organisation which supports women in achieving their full leadership potential, shares an impactful piece of advice she has received:
Chisholm thinks this advice is helpful, particularly to those people who have a tendency for perfectionism:
“In order to be clear about your goals, you need to be absolutely clear about your core values, because those values drive everything you want. Bring them to the surface. Name them.”
She says achieving those goals is more important than being right along the way. She warns against getting embroiled in conflict about rights and wrongs.
You need to “Be prepared to be vulnerable and have other people be right” – this is crucial in order to achieve your goals through other people.
